3ma12 in Bad Bentheim
A dedicated community of Fiat 131 enthusiasts
held their annual international meeting in Northern Germany’s Bad
Bentheim. From May 9 to May 12, the now sixth mirafiori gathering
was held this time
transnational
in Germany and the Netherlands. Participants came from Germany,
England, Ireland and the Netherlands, the longest journey measuring
nearly 1,000 miles (1600km).
The various 131 models were well represented with
comfortable four door limousines, functional estate cars, fast two
door models in vintage orange or poison green livery carrying the
programmatic name “Sport” or “Racing” and wild rally cars and
replicas based on the Group 4 triple world rally championship
winning Abarth 131 Rally.
"We want to show the beauty of our home
countries to all participants, if possible travelling back roads in
order
to make driving as pleasurable as can be“ the organizers Albert
Brouwer and Heini Nee said. The four day program listed sights in
the Emsland, the Teutoburg Forest and the Netherlands. Day trips led
through the Tecklenburg District and the Teutoburg Forest, across
the Emsland to the Meyer shipyard and through the Netherlands via
Apeldoorn to Flevoland.
The starting point and return destination was
always Bad Bentheim, with the friendly team at Hotel Grossfeld
offering a comfortable setting for the group. Here the attendees
have been looked after well in the culinary department and could
relax socially for long hours with good German beer and
conversation. This sociable aspect is characteristic for the success
of the 3ma meetings: One comes as a 131 driver and leaves as a
friend.
