Well...

Maybe the price is adversly related to number of doors (a 2-door is twice the price of a 4 door)?.

There is a downs side of owning a 4-door. It is more commmon thus cheaper   Roll Eyes

If i remember correctly i paid about 120 pounds each for my 2 doors about 5 years ago.
I cant see anyone paying the sort of price being asked for this door.
If any one does pay that sort of price ill have to think seriously about selling the 131.

That price from 1 vendor doesn't mean that's what they're worth. I was after a Fiat chroma intake menifold a couple of years ago for a fuel injection project. A vendor in Sydney quoted me $800 plus freight for a secondhand manifold. A wreckers yard in Melbourne quoted me $650 for a complete chroma engine with ancillaries, including freight.

One vendor will not hijack the market. There will always be someone who tries to make a killing with one transaction.

The valuation methodology talks of the market price based on comparable transactions. There were far more 100-200
 Euro transactions than 750 ones.

The other valuation method is called "replacement cost". If the market price really settles at this (750) level I will
manufacture new ones for half the price and make a killing!

There can be only a certain level discrepancy between market price of a complete car and the total price of all of its
 components purchased separately.

If this discrepancy becomes ridiculous I will take my 131 Abarth (replica) apart,  sell all the components and buy myself
and original 131 Abarth Corsa with rally papers, and documented sports history in perfect shape !

these parts are new old stock, the doors were for sale for a long time at ?600 now its ?850 the seller must have a few doors & sold some to put the price up, if the other way around & not selling any the price would come down i think? has anyone on the forum bought doors of this seller?

Guys

While some of these prices may seem high you have to consider that there aren't many left!
In 1988 I repaired a 131 Sport that hit a pheasant and took out the lights and grille on the near side.  A new grille from Fiat was ?98 +vat and the lights for one side were ?88+vat.

On that basis the grille looks to be the right price if you really need one.

I have to agree though that the doors are far too pricey!

If we have really reached this stage I will also start building them!

Orders please......................?

Just been on one of the Toyota forums & a 1980 starlet drivers door used was ?500 & snapped up straight with no moaning so just goes to show that you will get what someone is willing to pay, he WILL get his asking price because i thought about the ?600 doors only not that far on yet that i really needed them.
